Black Rock's Jog-A-Thon is the major fundraiser to pay for additional Para-Educators. Many years ago parents got together and wanted to give each grade level one Para-Educator, in addition to other paras in the school. Most schools in our district do not have these extra paras to help our teachers and students. This would not be possible without the generous donations of the friends and family of our Black Rock Families. The cost of our Paras increases every year which requires our Jog-a-thon to raise more money. We have fallen short the last few years. We hope that this year we will meet our goal of $75,000. This would pay for the 5 paras along with allowing us to add one more para to the school for extra eyes at lunch and recess.
